My name is Tracie, and I am a qualified and experienced integrative humanistic counsellor in East London, and online, providing you with a compassionate, empathetic space where you can receive personalised help in your most difficult time.
Prior to becoming a fully qualified counsellor in 2014, I spent 25 years working as an activist and campaigner, dedicating myself to challenging prejudice and discrimination against disadvantaged communities over important issues such as employment, access to housing and other mainstream services. In other words, my life has been spent helping others, listening to their struggles, and collaborating with people to move to a better place, so it only felt natural to become a full-time counsellor.
Giving people that feeling of being seen and heard is such a huge passion of mine, and I am always looking for ways to
improve the quality of my counselling through regular CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
We will explore your situation in a way that’s comfortable to you and come up with a therapeutic plan that is personalised to your needs. This is your space to speak about whatever’s bothering you, with me supporting you every step of the way as you move towards a better place. If you would like to arrange an initial appointment for counselling in Stratford, East London, or online, feel free to give me a call on 07495 734 133 or fill out the contact form.
As a humanistic integrative counsellor, I firstly take care to understand your situation as you see it and give you the space to bring to the session whatever feels most important. You will receive unconditional positive regard at all times. No individual is the same, so I am careful to learn about your specific situation before deciding on a way of working that addresses your requirements. This could involve psychodynamic therapy that looks into childhood, cognitive behavioural therapy, Gestalt therapy, or any other therapeutic technique that would be helpful for you.
Whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety, addiction, low self-esteem, or any other issue, the emotions you feel are grounded in trauma – both one-off events and trauma that originates in childhood. Traumatic events disconnect us from our gut feelings and directly inform how we think, feel, and behave in certain situations. It leads to us having a negative view of ourselves and other people, laying the platform for challenging emotions and unhealthy behaviours to develop over time.
With me, our work will be about getting to the source of this trauma – understanding the role it plays in your life, what the triggers are, and how to manage it. I know that engaging with your trauma in this way is painful, but going to the source is the only way to truly move past these emotions and reach a place of greater peace and understanding. And I am here to support you every step of the way.
I understand that reaching out for help isn’t easy, but I am here to create a safe, friendly, down-to-earth space to explore your issues in a way that makes sense to you. If you would like to know a bit more about my counselling in Stratford, East London, and online, feel free to get in touch.
